Sweden - Narrow gauge Upsala-Lenna-Faringe Railway
For a full scale picture, please click on the picture shown !
Upsala-Lenna (earlier Länna) railroad is a small remaining part of the once huge 891 mm gauge railroad Stockholm to Roslagen.
In the south there is still regular passenger traffic on some parts of the same railroad system. For pictures of those trains,
please see the section Sweden -> Storstockholms Lokaltrafik SL -> Roslagsbanan at this same picture archive site. The part Uppsala Östra -
Lenna - Faringe is a 33km long remainder in the northern part of this earlier network system and there are just museum trains rolling
there. More information of the railroad can be found on
the Wikipedia.
This picture shows the new "Uppsala Östra" station quite next to the current station of Uppsala city. This is currently the operational
center of the museum railroad.

The locomotive of the museum train was an old Swedish state railways SJ class Tp 891 mm gauge diesel engine from 1953. It requires oil in at least 15 different places
before the driver can start driving.

Closeup of the old class Tp locomotive. There is a small cabin, a resting place for the locomotive driver at the shorter front of the machine.
At the longer front part there is not only the engine, but also plenty of space for tools, a hydraulic lift, oil, cleaning
utensils etc. The machine is made by MAK in Kiel in 1953. There were originally 25 of these locomotives, but as many 891 mm narrow gauge lines were
closed in the 180s and 1990s, many of these machines were left without work. 16 of these were converted to normal gauge and got the class number T23.
Today this one is on of the only four remaining class Tp machines.

The coach SRJ Co 115 has a steel carriage structure. It was delivered in 1949 and was originally used in Roslagsbanan's fast traffic between Stockholm and the ferry
port of Norrtälje. They were used by Roslagsbanan of SL (see archive section Sweden -> Storstockholms Lokaltrafik SL -> Roslagsbanan) until the beginning
of the 1990s, after which it was given to museum train service. There are two similar coaches at the Upsala-Lenna railway, the numbers 114 and this 115.

The beautiful old two axle 3rd class coach NKlJ no.C 22 is from NKlJ, Nordmark–Klarälvens Järnvägar. That was an 891 mm gauge railroad running on the line
Skoghall–Karlstad–Hagfors–Filipstad in the province of Värmland from 1877 to 1990. This coach is from 1916. The outer structure is made of teakwood.

This beautifully restored 3rd class teakwood coach Co 71 is also from the year 1916. Its inside has been restored to the condition like it used to be in the 1940s.
The railroad has also a similar coach no.Co 70 which is restored to look like it did when it was delivered in 1916.

The no. Co 70, already mentioned above, is from 1916 and has been rebuilt to look like it did when it was delivered.

No. Co 33 is from the year 1899. It received a new chassis with metal plates instead of teakwood as its outer surface in 1940. In the old days it used to be
heated by a small coal oven.
