Some basic definitions:

There are many ways a malicious or mischievous programmer can become a
nuisance. These are some of the ways:

TROJAN: a feature which is hidden. Sometimes called a "logic bomb". Named
in recognition of the Trojan Horse of Greek mythology.
VIRUS: a piece of programming that can reproduce itself. Sometimes attaches
        itself to other files.
WORM: a piece of programming which makes a nuisance of itself by slithering
        into places it's not wanted.
