The closest you'll find are the Kite Loft in Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Kites Up and Away in Annapolis. Both are about an hour from DC. The store in Annapolis is your best bet for SkyShark, but I wouldn't expect either store to stock UL bridles. Personally, I'd just make a bridle out of old 150# spectra. It's not particularly difficult, though a bit time consuming. Still, if you're like me, you probably have bunches of old line hanging around, and better things to spend money on. Now if only I could make my own spars from common household items.... ;-) Incidentally, I feel perfectly comfortable using ancient, beat up spectra for my Rev bridles. 150# is way overboard with strength to begin with; I use it mostly because it's a lot easier to work with than 80. You didn't say when you'd be in DC. It might be worth noting that next week/weekend (Wednesday through Sunday) is SunFest, in Ocean City, MD. This is about 2.5 hours east of DC. It's a great kite festival, and well worth attending if you can manage it. I know of a few rec.kiters who will be there in addition to myself... Jeff -- |Jeffrey C. The movie was _The Pelican Brief_. The scene is near the end of the movie. I've been wondering since I saw the movie whether or not it was one of my kites. The scene was clearly shot on a weekday (at least to anyone who knows the Mall...), and at the time, I was one of the few regular flyers on weekdays. Additionally, at the time the movie was shot, I would have been playing around with the red 'n black carrington Tracer I built, and the kite seen between the flags is red. Jeff -- |Jeffrey C.
