From: DON SISCO To: CARLA RYGULA Subj: JW's And War (CR) No. For we are told by Jesus: "All will know if you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves." Seeing all the love Christendom had for their fellow brothers during wartime, was just overwhelming. (CR) Some comments concerning your hypocritical stand on war. I recently came into some very interesting information concerning the JW's and their involvement in war. I guess the WTBTS hasn't always been as "loving" a group as you'd like to present them: "There could be nothing against our conscience in going into the army. Wherever we would go we could take the Lord with us, the Captain of our salvation, and wherever we would go we could find opportunities to serve him and his cause" (THE WATCHTOWER, April 15, 1903, pg. 120). "Notice that there is no command in the Scriptures against military service" (THE WATCHTOWER, Aug. 1, 1898, pg. 231). What do you suppose they were going to do in the military Carla? Sit around and read their WTBTS books? Walk out onto the battlefield empty handed? No, they went out and killed people, JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DID! Was it wrong? Not according to AWAKE, Sep. 8, 1975 pgs. 27-28 and July 22, pg. 7, Jehovah's Witnesses were told force, EVEN DEADLY FORCE was allowed to protect one's self or another! Looks like there is a little hypocrisy at work here among the "loving" Jehovah's Witnesses!
