DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS
The zip file contains two files -- this readme, and the installclient.exe program. The latter is a self-extracting executable that will install the Sauver Backup Client software (Personal or Professional). Other than extracting some files to a temp directory, the installation program will not make any changes to your system until you get to the "INSTALL" button.

INSTALLATION OF SOFTWARE
The installation process installs one service program (the backup client service) and several applications. One application installs itself in the desktop tray; the rest are accessed either from the tray program (by right-clicking on the icon), or through the Windows start menu.
The installation process requires a reboot. It will place a link in the "Startup" programs, which may cause Spysweeper or other spyware detector to display a warning. This link starts up the tray program.
After rebooting, you should run the Settings program to set up operating parameters and backup sets.

QUICK-START
The Sauver HELP file contains a quick-start section to help you get started and get a basic understanding of using Sauver.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAMS INSTALLED
The following programs are installed:
buabout.exe Displays the "about" screen.
buextract.exe Extracts files from backups.
buschedule.exe Displays the scheduled backups over the next 7 days.
bustatus.exe Displays status of the backup service.
butray.exe Desktop tray program.
cliservice.exe Backup Client Service. This actually does the work.
cliset.exe Edit general settings and edit backup set definitions.
register.exe Enter registration information if you purchase a license.
startbu.exe Start a specified backup immediately.
uninstallclient.exe	uninstall the Sauver Backup Client.

REMOVAL OF SOFTWARE
To uninstall Sauver, run the "uninstall" program from the Windows start menu. The removal process will require a reboot, and will put a cleanup program in RunOnce, which may cause SpySweeper or other spyware detector to display a warning. This program simply cleans up some files after reboot.

ISSUES TO BE AWARE OF
If you configure Sauver to email you, either with backup results or completed logs, cliservice.exe will trigger a firewall alert when it tries to connect to the mail server.
The Settings program can also attempt to email the completed log if you select "Rotate Logs" from the menu. This will also trigger the firewall.
Some wireless network installations require a "runtime" component in order to operate, which only runs when a user is logged on. Sauver will not be able to use such networks when no-one is logged on.

SUPPORT
Support is available by email only. You should *never* have to wait longer than 24 hours for a response! If you find that happening, resend your query.
You are not required to purchase a "support contract" (none exists) in order to get support or ask questions or report bugs. You are not even required to purchase the software before doing so. We improve the product through user feedback, and always welcome it. *PLEASE* try to make your comments specific and constructive. "I didn't like it" doesn't give us any information to work on.

UPGRADES
Your permanent license entitles you to all upgrades, major or minor, released within 365 days from the date of issuance of the license. Any versions released after 365 days from your license date will operate as demos. You may of course, keep using any prior versions forever -- the license doesn't "expire".
You may purchase another year of upgrades at any time. See the HLP file or http://www.innersystem.com for details.
