This program includes no Installation wizard. It writes no records to Registry and copies no files to any other directory.

From the zip file all files should be extracted to a directory of its own. We suggest c:\Plan.

The password for the Controller is initially set as "sysadmin" without quotes. The Controller password should be changed immediately. Use Menu option Controller/Passwords/Change System Password.

The program should be used as follows. The Controller should firstly set up some managers names - One sample name has already been set up with password of 12.
Use menu options Controller/Files Update/Setup Managers.

Work Areas should be reviewed and edited as required - some work areas have already been set up.
Use Menu option Controller/Files Update/Work Areas.

Note some Corporate KPI's have been setup and these are allocated to specific Work Areas. If you delete an existing Work Area then the Corporate KPI's will need to be edited to allocate new work areas. Or the existing Corporate KPI's may be deleted and new ones added.
Use menu option Controller/Files Update/Corporate KPI's.

The program is then ready for use by users. Part of a Personal Plan must be developed before any Reviews can be made. The items that should be completed are KPI's and optionally - Competencies.
Menu option Users/Performance Plan/KPI's Goals & Measures, and Menu Option Users/Performance Plan/Competencies.

The program prompts for a Name, Job Title, Manager's name and work area. This is followed by password request. It then leads to the menu option chosen.
Most of the rest of the program is fairly intuitive and context sensitive Help files are available via the F1 function key for each section.

Performance Review may only be conducted against KPI's and Competencies - after they have been established.

See user help files for other information.

NOTE
PEER TO PEER - WINDOWS WORKGROUP USAGE.
If you wish to use a peer to peer network - ie a Windows workgroup you should firstly run the program SETPLAN.EXE on the home machine and thereafter use PLANWGP.EXE. You should not use the program PLAN.EXE.

SETPLAN.EXE creates a file called user.crd and contains the full path to the home machine.
YOU MUST SET THE PATH TO THE HOME MACHINE SHARED FOLDER EXACTLY AS THE PATH AS SEEN IN THE COMMENTS COLUMN OF 'MY NETWORK PLACES'.
create shortcuts to the home machine directory.
Workgroups require that a full pathname be established in order that all files remain in that directory. Otherwise on another machine it will attempt to create files and look for files in c:\Windows\Temp

The PLAN.EXE program should run fine from a server however if any problems occur use PLANNET.EXE
